Elote

Elote Cafe is less whisper-over-candlelight romantic and more order-another-margarita romantic in Uptown. Chef Jeff Smedstad pairs Southern Mexican recipes with Southwestern ingredients in dishes such as fire-roasted elote, lamb adobo, and smoked brisket enchiladas. Reservations are required and open 60 days ahead, so spontaneity is not invited to this date. Elote takes reservations up to 60 days in advance. Mariposa

On the eastern edge of West Sedona, Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill is the full dress-for-dinner experience: sweeping red-rock views, elegant interiors, and Chef Lisa Dahl’s Latin-inspired steaks, seafood, empanadas, and ceviche. Reservations open 90 days ahead, and prime sunset tables go fast. While you’ll hear a lot of people recommend Mariposa, it still delivers Sedona romance consistently and is worth the wait.
Rene
336 State Route 179, Suite B-118, Sedona, AZ 86336
Rene brings Old World romance to Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village, just south of the Sedona “Y”. Its intimate dining room and fountain-lined courtyard feel worlds away from the traffic outside, while Chef Mercer Mohr’s French-inspired menu features caviar, seafood, steaks, and seasonal dishes. Reservations are recommended for dinner, although walk-ins are accepted when tables are available. Ask about the secret menu.
The Hudson

Perched above Hillside Sedona along State Route 179, The Hudson offers an elevated patio overlooking red rocks. The industrial-chic dining room is lively rather than hushed, and the menu leans into sophisticated comfort food: bruschetta, burgers, seafood, ribs, steaks, and serious cocktails. Reservations cover the main dining room only; the view-heavy patio, lounge, and bar are first-come, first-served.
Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante
Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante Italiano proves a romantic Sedona dinner does not require a red-rock view. This West Sedona favorite creates its atmosphere indoors with candlelight, silk-draped walls, chandeliers, and live music. Chef Lisa Dahl’s refined Italian menu centers on delicate pastas, sustainable seafood, and classic Mediterranean flavors. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekends and special occasions.
EDEN
1750 E Villa Drive, Cottonwood, AZ
A roughly 30-minute drive from Sedona, EDEN sits outside Old Town Cottonwood in a quiet, unassuming spot that makes the polished dining experience feel like a genuine find. Its seasonal, farm-to-table menu mixes Southwest flavors with global detours, including truffled elote, Bangkok shrimp, Arizona beef, and wild salmon. Reservations are recommended; call for parties larger than four.
Aqui
804 N Main St, Cottonwood, AZ 86326
One of Old Town Cottonwood’s newest arrivals, Aqui Arizona Kitchen & Agave Bar swaps wine-country predictability for moody Arizona-inspired cooking and an agave bar stocked with rare tequilas and mezcals. The menu combines Mediterranean, Spanish, and Sonoran influences with hand-pressed tortillas, house-made sauces, and earth-fired flavors. Reservations are available and smart for weekend date nights while everyone is still eager to try the newcomer.
